FOR NEW BELIEVERS

Are you new to the faith? That is so exciting! We hope you'll agree that this is the most important life step you will ever take.

Yet this step is only the beginning to a life-long journey and if you're like most, this step probably comes with a lot of questions. That, my friend, is completely normal.  Our goal is to help walk alongside you as you begin to learn what it means to be a devoted follower of Christ. As we begin our journey together, let's hopefully answer a few questions you may have already asked.

BAPTISM

You have probably heard of baptism but what’s it all about? 

Baptism is an identification with Jesus.  In being baptized Christians publicly proclaim that their life is found in Jesus alone. (Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12, 1 Peter 3:20-22)

Baptism is an outward declaration of a person’s inward commitment to follow Jesus.  In being baptized Christians are saying to their families, friends, the church, and everybody else, I am a follower of Jesus. (Ephesians 4:4-6)

Baptism follows the example of Jesus. (Matthew 3:12-15)

Baptism is done in obedience to the preaching of those who Jesus first taught (Acts 2:38, Acts 19:4-5).

Do you believe in Jesus as the Son of God and have accepted Him as your Savior?  Are you ready to be baptized?  If the answer is "yes!", we encourage you to meet with Pastor Josh and set up a time for your baptism. he will answer any additional questions you may have and prepare you for the baptism service.  

NOW WHAT?

As we said before, accepting Christ does not end with the decision.  You are now on a life-journey.  Each day is a new day and a new opportunity to learn and respond to God's Word.  We want to encourage you as you do and believe that going it alone is NOT the best way to apply God's Word to your life.  Instead, we'd love to connect you with another believer that can help you navigate some of the basic beliefs and practices of the Christian faith.  Once paired, you and your new mentor will meet for 6 weeks to lay a foundation of understanding for you and your new life in Christ.
